I started out knowing that I would become a doctor of children when I realized I was magnetically drawn to the orphaned and leprous children in a rural Indian hospital while in medical school. As such I have a special heart for orphans and I have expertise and experience in both foster children as well as international adoptees. I particularly delight in seeing and taking care of children with specialized healthcare needs, seeing their vulnerabilities as well as their beautiful and unique strengths. I have a particular interest in children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, like autism, CP, MR, and Down Syndrome. Basically, my day job is to delight in children and their families, make goofy jokes and faces, type on the computer some medical stuff, and try to solve problems with a listening heart.
